This LP contains 12 performances from as many English groups with the emphasis being on swing with a touch of Dixieland. Best known is Spike Hughes, trumpeter Nat Gonella (featured on "Georgia on My Mind"), trombonists George Chisholm and trombonist Chris Barber, trumpeter Ken Colyer and pianist George Shearing (heard in a 1944 solo) but also worth checking out are pianist Fred Elizalde (his "Clarinet Marmalade" is the only selection on this set from the 1920s), George Webb's Dixielanders,, clarinetist Sid Phillips, Harry Gold's Pieces of eight, and Lew Stone's version of "White Jazz".
